The teeth are nylon coated to protect the wear surface and minimize friction. Belts are neoprene with fiberglass reinforcement for quiet operation. I think this kit is a much better kit than the Aisin kit which has a no name belt, probably Chinese knock off of Mitsubishi and an Aisin water pump.
